Finance Analyst, 12 month FTC, Barnwood with flexibility, £34,554 per annum plus excellent benefits

The Opportunity

Here at EDF we are seeking a Finance Analyst to come and join our dynamic, fast-paced Enterprise IT team. As an EIT Finance Analyst, you will be accountable to the Enterprise IT Finance Lead for all Enterprise IT operating budget, commercial and finance reporting. You will help the Finance Lead ensure all EIT operational spend is in line with MTP budget and to manage and account for all variances.

Enterprise IT spend circa £100+m per annum and you will support the Lead in checking it for value and overlap to ensure that the Enterprise IT spend is optimised in the use of resources, in pursuit of providing service excellence to the respective business units. Such resources include staff, third parties, environments, technologies, and financial investment which are optimised in line with business requirements via the individual Business Service Owners.

You will help run the TCO process (Total Cost of Ownership) ensuring changes to operational budgets are accurately captured and included in the MTP (Medium Term Plan). In addition, you will assist in managing all SSA (Shared Service Agreements) with the appropriate business units, ensuring all associated costs are fully recovered.

Day to day you will:

  • Contribute to the financial aspects of third-party service performance reviews, ensuring that supplier issues are addressed formally.
  • Develop a culture and robust forward planning practices in order to drive a positive impact on Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Ensure that all suppliers are working with each other effectively in order to deliver a seamless, qualitypredictable and value-based service.
  • Support Enterprise IT in meeting its budgetary ambitions through rigorous financial management, reporting and challenging where necessary.
  • Comply with Corporate financial requirements including forecasting, accruals, Risks and Opportunities.
  • Track departmental savings against tasking and establish regular reports.
  • Assist in the management of any Shared Services Agreements (SSA).
  • Manage recharge (including chargeback), pass through costs and task orders.

The Skills
  • Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent or with equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in the commercial, performance and quality management of a Service Provider(s).
  • Excellent financial planning & budgetary forecasting experience.
  • Experience of operating and managing in an outsourced environment as well as in a matrix organisation.
  • Experience in the performance and quality management of a Service Provider(s).
  • Experienced in managing internal/external service providers.
  • A broad understanding of IT technology (particularly infrastructure) with interest in maintaining that awareness.
  • Understanding of common financial practices.
  • Understanding of commercial and contractual agreements between EDF Energy and its IT service partners or previous experience in an equivalent environment.
  • Demonstrable record of contributing effectively to a business.
