As part of the AEB project, we are offering a variety of exciting opportunities for experienced trainer/coach or fresh out of industry with an overall exceptional knowledge and understanding of all bike types to deliver beneficial sessions to a diverse group of learners on a casual contract.

Activate Cycle Academy are the UK’s foremost training organisation for Cytech commercial, and Apprenticeship based Cycle Mechanic Training. Due to continued high demand we are now looking to recruit casual workshop trainers to deliver weekend Home Mechanic and Cytech Workshops and to provide innovative training and mentoring to a group of learners based at Merrist Wood College.
You will be required to deliver Cytech Technical One, Adult Education and Cytech / ACA Home Mechanic courses with the occasional Cytech Two coverage.

In addition, you will oversee all health and safety within the workshop, making sure the area is kept clean and offers a safe environment for our leaners and staff.

initially, the positions will be sessional work with the potential to undertaking 1 weekend a month plus occasional support and cover for holidays and sickness.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

You will be qualified to Cytech Technical level 3 or equivalent, and ideally with TAQA / PTLLS qualifications (or prepared to work towards). Good ‘coaching style’ of training and a deep understanding of how the Cycle Industry functions and the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that are needed to be successful within the Industry. You will have good attention to detail and Health and Safety standards will be second to none. You’ll have the ability to manage your workload, to keep robust records of your courses and learner progress, and to deliver meaningful feedback in order for your learners to make great progress in their skills and abilities.
