- First point of contact for Medical Director / Divisional Directors (telephone, e-mail, face to face)
- Manage junior secretarial administrative staff
- Audio typing of medical information
- Typing letters and correspondence
- Preparing and maintaining medical files
- Diary management and report writing
- Management of administration systems
- Minute taking during meetings
The Candidate
The successfully appointed Personal Assistant will have the following skills and abilities:
- Educated to degree level, or possessing an equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- City & Guilds [AMSPAR] level 3 Diploma in Medical Administration or equivalent Medical Secretary experience
- ECDL
- Experience at a high level of providing a comprehensive administrative/PA service within a corporate team
- Experience working as a medical secretary
- Experience of setting up and using filing/IT systems in a large organisation
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation, numeracy, literacy, typing/word processing and customer care skills.
- Ability to produce reports, graphs and statistics
- Ability to manage a team
- Ability to take succinct notes at formal meetings as well as take minutes
- The ability to complete high volume audio typing and report writing
- Strong ICT skills including Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Speedy, accurate keyboard skills
- Highly organised individual who has the ability to prioritise
- A track record of experience working in the NHS or equivalent in a similar role
