A fantastic opportunity has arisen with one of our leading public sector housing clients in Essex for a full-time (Monday to Friday) Allocations and Lettings Manager temporary role lasting for the next three months, with every possibility of an extension before going permanent.

Based in Chelmsford, our client is an award winning, people focused organisation. The successful candidate must have managerial experience, and be comfortable taking responsibility for all stages of the allocations and lettings process.

You will be required to lead, manage, resource and develop the team to deliver an effective allocation, letting and moving service to provide our client's distinctive customer experience. You will also be accountable for lettings to meet the requirements of the Nominations Agreements and, in turn, the regulatory standards.

Other key skills required are:

* The ability to establish and manage team performance, set targets to achieve delivery of our client's distinctive customer experience, effective letting and moving across company properties.
* Developing longer-term company strategy in collaboration with Head of Customer Service, delivering annual team plans and policy execution.
* Delivering value for money through innovative approaches and continuous improvement to achieve maximum utilisation of company properties, meeting the needs of customers at all times.
* Responsible for processing mutual exchange requests; coordinating inspections with District teams or surveyors as appropriate and obtaining reference requests.
* Providing effective sourcing, contract and relationship management of all lettings partners to achieve prompt letting of company properties.
* Developing and sustaining key partnerships, including management agreements, to deliver the agreed letting and moving standards.
* Working with Neighbourhood, Voids, Customer Resolution Centre and wider company teams to meet collaborative targets, training and advising teams to resolve complex queries.
* Establishing the team budget and manage its effective utilisation, ensuring delivery to targets and value for money standards.
* Support and deputise for the Head of Customer Service when required.

Strong social housing sector lettings knowledge (including choice-based lettings) is required for this post, as is experience of managing effectively in an agile work environment.Please note, this role is working from home due to the current covid-19 pandemic.
