Senior Trading Underwriter

Aviva are currently recruiting for a Senior Trading Underwriter to join their Legal Indemnities team.

This is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity and requires someone experienced that is able to come in and hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities within the role include:

  • Responding to client enquiries by telephone and in writing, including drafting and issuing policies
  • Providing support to junior members of staff
  • Assessing legal indemnities risks and presenting these for internal sign-off, where required
  • Assisting with business development initiatives
  • Managing the pipeline of enquiries to ensure we have the best chance of winning the business


We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Legal indemnity underwriting experience across a broad range of risk types inc. Rights of Light, Judicial Review, Restrictive Covenants and Planning Risks etc
  • Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive
  • A good understanding of the various applications of legal indemnity insurance e.g. block policies, portfolio covers etc
  • Experience of working within the London market
