Team member, Cosmonautics / Explorations Team (Infant division)

NASA, the world's leader in space and aeronautics, is seeking a mother with a baby (under 12 months) to participate in a six-month mission to the International Space Station, with the aim of establishing the viability of space travel for infants.

Full training will be given, and no specialist abilities are required. However, this position may not be suitable for those whose child adheres to a strict routine, as we cannot guarantee timezone consistency during mission.

The successful candidate will hold:

  •  a degree from a UK university or equivalent
  • a full, clean drivers' licence
  • a baby

and will be:

  • calm under pressure
  • an excellent multitasker
  • an instinctive diplomat (in case of inter-species encounters)
  • acquainted with all five verses of 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star'
  • really good at bouncing

This is a full-time position, offered on the basis of a six-month, fixed-term contract. The position is unsalaried, in line with standard parenting rates.

Update 1st April: applications are now closed for this post ;)
