Return to Teaching programme (Primary and Secondary Teachers)
Have you been out of teaching for a while?
Returning to the classroom could be easier than you think with Essex County Council’s free Return to Teaching programme.
Starting at the end of March, the intensive course will give you the confidence, skills and support you need to be school-ready for September.
It is suitable for both primary and secondary-trained teachers and includes:
- Three full days of professional development, covering curriculum changes and classroom management
- Help and support with job matching and applications
With nine in ten Essex schools currently rated as good or outstanding by Ofsted and many schools offering flexible and part-time roles, there has never been a better time to return to the classroom.
So whether you have taken time out of the profession to raise a family, pursue another career or work as a supply teacher, the Return to Teaching programme could give you just the boost you need.
Returning to teaching could mean an end to the horrendous work commute, the chance to rediscover a passion for making a real difference to young people’s lives and the opportunity to enjoy an interesting and varied career where no day is ever the same.
Participants on the course must:
- Be qualified with UK QTS
- Show a clear desire to return to the teaching profession
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Demonstrate a commitment to the learning of pupils
