Joining them as an Income Officer, you will be responsible for maximising the rental income by prevention and recovery of debts owed by both current and former tenants. Proactively managing all arrears cases in accordance with policies and procedures, you must ensure that customers' household incomes are maximised through liaison with benefit providers. This is a part time role to cover 16 hours per week, over 2 days for a 12 month period:

• Thursday - 8 hours between 8am until 6pm
• Friday - 8 hours between 8am until 6pm

Likewise, experienced candidates who consistently deliver effective management of rent arrears for a social housing provider, presenting cases in court for possession or eviction and of providing basic welfare benefit and budgeting advice to a wide range of tenants should apply.

Capable of managing difficult customer contact by telephone and in person, you will have exceptional communication skills, highly developed negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to resolve complex and conflicting priorities and one's own time with a minimum of supervision.

Their stock covers a wide range of locations across the northwest and, whilst you'll largely have autonomy to shape your planning and organisation there will be a need to travel as far as Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley (with subsistence and mileage paid) - typically around once a week.

With an awareness of the issues around working with vulnerable adults, you should have the ability to write comprehensive witness statements and engage with customers and / or their advocates in writing in regards to complex tenancy matters and a firm understanding of the law in respect of rent recovery and possession / eviction proceedings.
