Purpose of job:

The purpose of the role is to provide commercial, financial and accounting support to the Mobile Team within IM Division The role involves close working with the Senior Leadership Team and Accounting Team within the IM Division and reports to the Head Of Commercial Finance, IM Division. This is a business partnering role.

Key responsibilities:

Commercial decision support

• Financial insight and appraisal of quarterly commercial deal planning to support:
o Delivery of IM divisional strategy
o Ensuring plans are robust with regard to sales and profitability
o Comparison of revenue and net prices across account s and against management plan
• Provide financial insight, analysis and appraisal as required to support:
o Day-to-day commercial decision making;
o Evaluation of customer proposals and bids;
o Development of business strategy.
• Drive divisional management to achieve the right balance in maximising opportunities
• Management of Business Support Manager to ensure deals are reviewed and validated.

Financial planning

• Support the Division's annual, quarterly and monthly financial planning processes.
• Provide the appropriate level of challenge to ensure that plans are robust, stretching and achievable.
• Prepare ad hoc analysis where necessary (e.g. scenario planning, sensitivity analysis).
• Support the wider finance team with analysis as and when required for internal and external reporting.
Driving financial performance

• Work closely and partner with divisional management to drive financial performance and ensure that the Division's financial objectives regarding sales, profitability, cash conversion and market share are delivered.
• Prepare value-added reporting and analysis to support management and identify significant trends/issues, e.g. monitoring performance versus plan, customer/product profitability etc.
• Identify opportunities to maximise financial performance and grow the business.
• Working with Sales and Legal to draft commercial terms letters in line with approved plans.
• Work with the Operational and Strategy Director to set quarterly commission targets for Mobile sales accounts.

Key Competencies/Characteristics...
Hard Skills
• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
• Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards
• Experience of working in telecommunications or technology sectors
• Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP)

• Strong commercial acumen
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment, take quick and effective decisions, and direct others
• Excellent analytical skills to understand business drivers and interpret financial results
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, get key messages across succinctly and work with others

• Strong influencing skills to persuade management that your conclusions are correct and obtain their buy-in
• Strong reporting skills, display key information and convey messages clearly, concisely and with impact
