Working with Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in the Pre-Admissions department.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
To take the lead on clinical shifts responsibility for all aspects of pre-assessment with minimal supervision to provide:
Seamless transition and care of elective surgical patients from decision to treat to discharge by:
Ensuring all patients are fit to undergo anaesthesia and surgery
Ensuring all patients are fully informed in respect of surgical procedure and anaesthesia
Ensuring all necessary pre-operative tests/investigations are completed as per local and national guidelines and the results reviewed by an appropriately qualified member of staff
Ensuring a plan for discharge commenced and is fully discussed with the patient
Reduce the risk of last minute cancelled operations
Work collaboratively with key staff members, Consultants, GPs, Ward and Theatre teams etc., to ensure robust communication of patient needs/risks
Provide a high standard of evidence-based care and maintain up-to-date knowledge relevant to specialty

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Proactive and driven to succeed
Good organisational and planning skills
Strong interpersonal skills:
Able to communicate clearly with a range of people at different levels across the hospital, deploying a range of techniques to do this effectively
Control the efficient use of consumables and supplies
Participate in the capture or revenue within the department
Assist in identifying capital equipment purchase requirements.
Must be a Registered Nurse, with current NMC registration on Sub Part 1 in Adult Nursing.
