With a turnover of GBP22m and c.10,000 learners, Wirral Metropolitan College is the largest provider of 16-18 education, adult education, training and apprenticeships in Wirral. Operating from four sites, including our new GBP11m Wirral Waters campus, we are a financially sound college working towards our vision of becoming Outstanding.
We are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal Science, Engineering, HE and Construction to join our Senior Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Vice Principal you will play significant part in achieving the strategic objectives and outcomes of the College for the area through the achievement of departmental targets as well as improvement of each curriculum area in respect of quality and financial performance. In addition you will be instrumental in developing new activity in line with strategic priorities and the Liverpool LEP transformational themes to increase the commercial revenue of the College.
The successful candidate will have strong commitment to high quality and a proven track record of successful practice as a curriculum manager in post-16 education and/or training. You will be adept at leading staff teams and you will need to demonstrate previous experience in a subject discipline and a sound understanding of managing a diverse range of programmes and staff within a curriculum team.
This post will involve working 35 hours per week, which may include evening work and will be based at our Twelve Quays Campus in Birkenhead.
