SENCo Person Specification

*A current SENCo either experienced or recently qualified
*A resilient and proven practitioner who can work with challenging and questioning parents
*You should have an excellent understanding on SEN requirements and policies
*The ideal SENCo will have experience coaching and training other colleagues in best practice

SENCo Role Overview

As a SENCO at this school you will be orchestrating the development of SEN teaching, learning and safeguarding. You will be giving struggling students the support they deserve by leading small groups in nurturing tutor sessions. You will need to review IEPs to ensure that they deliver the necessary pupil progress. Part of your role as SENCo will include working to promote strong and mutually beneficial relationships with external organisations to support the needs of your pupils. Your duties will include taking on responsibility for managing the specialist SEN resources and putting together individual educational plans for each SEN pupil under your care.
