Our Healthcare Professionals carry out assessments and provide healthcare in custody environments for detainees, victims and staff across Police Forces, the Home Office and the Border Force.

The role includes:

??Manage and lead the HCP Team ensuring effective forensic medical service delivery, in accordance with the requirements of the Codes of Practice of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and agreed Care & Custody (Health) processes and procedures.
??Organise rotas and deploy members of the team to ensure that the service is provided at all times in accordance with contractual requirements.
??Supervise the performance of the HCP Team members and assist in the training of new team members, conduct HCP Team reviews and appraisals as required.
??Develop positive working relationships with the Clinical Lead, FMEs, Police Custody staff and external healthcare providers.
??Keep accurate and complete records of the HCP Team working hours; annual leave and sickness and ensure reporting requirements are achieved.
??Manage and promote the health and safety for staff and detainees in accordance with theC&C(H) H&S policy, taking action to remedy any identified problems and working in a way which minimises risk.
??Form working parties and actively participate in onward referral pathway programmes including attendance to customer and agency board meetings as relevant.
??Represent the HCP team at Clinical Governance meetings and be willing to participate in policy consultation, and writing to continuously improve quality across the company.
??Ensure medicines, drugs and equipment are maintained, accounted for and audited, complying with C&C(H) and professional guidelines.
??Become a licentiate member of the FFLM and undertake other role training and development as required.

Required skills:

??Have been continuously resident in the UK for at least 36 months.
??A full UK driving licence.
??Registered General Nurse or qualified paramedic.
??Competent in oral and written English.
??FULL Registration with the HCPC/NMC at Level 1 Registered Nurse Adult or equivalent
??A minimum of two years' relevant experience
