Cell Line Development Leader - CMC Development

Our client is a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of fully human monoclonal antibody drugs using its proprietary antibody platform.

They are looking for an experienced scientist & team leader to establish in-house commercial cell line development capabilities.

Responsibilities
• Setting strategic and scientific objectives for the Cell Line Development Team, accountable for developing effective work flows integrating with internal discovery and external CMO partners.
• Establishing a new team through internal and external hiring.
• Develop and implement experimental strategies and establish new business-critical working processes
• Will be expected to understand resource requirements and advise management on long-term planning, delegate and advise others effectively.
• Proactive management of team performance and personal development.
• Influence and draw up experimental strategies in line with business objectives and establish required infrastructure for the whole team.
• Authoring of relevant sections of regulatory submissions, generating IP as well as scientific peer reviewed publications.
• Evaluating and implementing and troubleshooting new technologies including high-throughput automated cell culture systems.

Requirements
• PhD or equivalent in cell and molecular biology.
• Extensive industry-relevant experience in Commercial Cell Line Development and broader biopharmaceutical development activities.
• Extensive molecular biology knowledge.
• Experience in optimising recombinant protein expression (mAbs as well as novel molecules).
• A high level of motivation, innovative thinking, flexibility to adapt quickly and a "can do" attitude
• Ability to work to tight timelines, process several projects simultaneously and link effectively with project leaders and other scientists as required.
• Capacity planning and prioritisation.
• Experienced in regulatory submissions process.
• Line management or matrix team leadership.
• Experience of cell culture automation platforms, automated data capture, analysis, and visualisation
• Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot.
