DEBT & BENEFITS SPECIALIST SUPPORT OFFICER - HOUSING TRUST - MANCHESTER - GBP28,000 BASIC SALARY + EXCELLENT BENEFITS
Our client is a unique social business that looks to innovate new approaches and partnerships to tackle the issues our neighbourhood's face. Funded by Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund's Building Better Opportunities programme, Motiv8 is a partnership with other housing partners across Greater Manchester, to develop an integrated solution to social exclusion and poverty by providing pathways for the hardest to reach people to develop the self confidence and self-esteem required for them to consider employment or training.
This opportunity has arisen to provide a specialist debt and benefit support service to the Motiv8 programme's debt advisers and key workers.
Applicants will need to be appropriately qualified to give debt and benefit advice up to and including appeals and court action and deliver debt and benefit training sessions to staff and volunteers as well as groups of service users.
Applicants must have at least 12 months experience of providing both debt and benefit advice and possess the IMA certificate in Money advice practice as well as being an authorised intermediary for debt relief orders.
In addition, you will possess:
* Excellent Income maximisation knowledge with the ability to calculate benefit entitlements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Effective organisational and planning skills
* Proven experience of designing and delivering bespoke learning events
The successful candidate needs to be flexible in order to serve the needs of the project including being able to work across Greater Manchester.
