Stratford Reid are working with a well-established Accountancy firm who are looking for a Mixed Tax Senior in their offices based in Blackburn.

In return the firm are offering up to GBP32,000 per annum with fantastic benefits including on site parking, 5% employer pension contribution & flexible benefits. You will work as part of the tax team providing an excellent tax service to personal and business clients' in accordance with the firm's values, procedures, prevailing legislation and good professional practice so as to meet or exceed clients' expectations and needs.

The ideal candidate to join them will have the following responsibilities-

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and partnerships, preparing tax returns and providing personal tax advice and support.
• Preparing complex corporation tax returns and reviewing simpler ones prepared by others.
• Working with tax and general practice team members to provide excellent, joined up service to clients.
• Preparing forms P11d and tax credit claims.
• Managing own work to budget and raising fees to clients.
• Assisting in training junior team members.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients and working with tax managers and partner to advise

The ideal candidate will be-

• Keen to play an active role in a dynamic team and willing to contribute to the success of the team and the firm as a whole.
• Passionate about providing great client service.
• Great at communicating with people at all levels - face to face and in writing.
• Positive and good at using your initiative.
• Organised and good at working under pressure.
• Motivated and well organised.
• Be an experienced tax adviser, with both personal and corporate tax experience. We are flexible and will adapt the role to suit the right candidate. The split in personal and corporate tax work will depend on the successful candidate.
• Currently be in tax role with a wide tax background, perhaps in a smaller firm seeking a move to a larger firm.
• Be familiar with the use of recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and a tax return software package).
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills as there will be contact with clients at all levels.
• Have good organisational skills as well as the ability to take initiative and contribute to the effective running of the department.

• 23.5 days' holiday per annum + bank holidays (3.5 days to be used for the Christmas closedown)
