The Company and the Role:
The Company is a UK based Education Charity that offers a broad range of vocational qualifications that are designed to recognise the work undertaken by young people and adult volunteers within youth organisations. They have been chosen by the Department of Education to deliver a military ethos alternative education programme in schools across the UK.
Currently seeking Instructors to be based in the London Borough of Croydon. The position is permanent.

Key Features of the Role:
Ensuring the delivery of training to schools and groups of up to 12 people from year 7 upwards within the London Borough of Croydon whilst developing and delivering the programme in an enjoyable, engaging and productive manner.
Inspiring young people who may be underperforming or disengaging in education by acting as a good role model and using core values from a military ethos (self-discipline, confidence and teamwork).
Encouraging learners to take part in out of school activities such as volunteering, navigation and challenge pursuits and getting involved in community-based groups as well as uniformed youth organisations.
You will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders including learners, parents, teachers and work colleagues.

Knowledge and Skills:
To be successful in this role you must be able to work with young people who display challenging behaviour.
The role would suit a candidate with previous military experience (regular or reservist) in either a challenge pursuit or physical training role (Physical Training Instructor, PTI, Outdoor Pursuits Instructor)
You must be able to demonstrate excellent written and spoken English skills.
You will hold a First Aid Qualification, Enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one), Challenge Pursuit or Training Qualification and have a full clean driving licence and access to their own transport.

What's on Offer:
Basic salary is GBP24k with GBP2k London weighting per annum based with hours based on local school timetables although you will be required to work some evenings. You will receive 23 days' holiday plus bank and public holidays, pension and free site parking. As part of this role you will be expected to gain the Pearson's Level 3 Qualification in Education and Training which will be free of charge. Employees can reclaim mileage costs, call costs (a mobile may be provided for work use) and some admin costs. This role is a 1 year fixed term contract.
