The Finance Manager Opportunity:

Due to growth, we are now recruiting for a proactive, highly motivated and commercially minded Finance Manager to join the finance team based from our head office in Wisborough Green. The key aspect of this role is to support the unit, working directly with stakeholders to help deliver value-adding and commercially focused support designed to improve margin.

You will provide accurate, meaningful and insightful financial analysis (to include sales & margin analysis, detailed business analysis and management information, forecasting and commentary and budget management).

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a key role which will require pro-active thinking and a "hands-on" and flexible approach.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Day-to-day running of the head office finance department including the management of the finance team (comprising 4.5 FTEs)
+ Preparation of monthly management accounts to tight timescales
+ Assisting in annual budgeting and regular forecasting profit and loss account/balance sheet
+ Managing the annual audit process
+ Cash flow forecasting
+ Assist in tender responses
+ Preparation of ad-hoc reports and projects as required

Skills and Experience:

+ You will be a competent accountancy professional who is likely to have similar experience in a previous role;
+ You will have previous experience of managing/supervising a team;
+ Commercially astute with sound business acumen;
+ Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to articulate an opinion effectively;
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work cross functionally and interact confidently with multiple stakeholders;
+ Robust and resilient in approach - the confidence to challenge 'push back' when required;
+ Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and work to tight deadlines;
+ A self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
+ Flexible with a "can do" approach;
+ The ability to work calmly under pressure;
+ Highly proficient in Excel and Sage50, knowledge of Microsoft Access would be extremely useful;
+ Team player - understands the importance of collaborative working;
+ Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a relevant finance qualification (such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is preferred, although we would welcome applications from individuals who are qualified by experience.

Location:
Based from our head office in Wisborough Green, West Sussex.

Hours / Status:
Permanent / full-time Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

Salary:
GBP45,000 to GBP50,000 (depending on qualifications and experience).
