Would you relish the opportunity to be part of a Government Department in the middle of one of the most exciting and challenging IT programmes across Whitehall?

Are you someone that can look at, or be given a problem and remove all things that are hindering or blocking its successful delivery?

Public sector IT projects are different in scale to anything you can find in most private sector organisations, so how about being part of a team that is responsible for leading IT change projects for an entire Department and beyond?

Department for Education are looking for a Senior Solutions Manager to join our team of IT specialists. You will be working with the support of your Senior Development Manager colleagues and the wider Portfolio Delivery Managers across the Digital and Technology functions suppliers and policy colleagues. You will be responsible for managing the overall delivery of new developments using Agile project management, as well as fostering and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and actively promoting the new technologies and services being introduced, and much more. We pride ourselves on using modern software development techniques to help deliver exceptional services.

We want people who are passionate about providing professional services and want to make the Department a great place to work. You will have a strong project management background with experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies in an IT/Digital function. You will have an understanding of existing and emerging web technologies, as well as an appreciation and in-depth knowledge of IT. You will be a strong communicator who is able to relate to people at all levels in an organisation whilst establishing and maintaining respect both professionally and personally.
