Would you relish the opportunity to be part of a Government Department in the middle of one of the most exciting and challenging IT programmes across Whitehall?

Are you someone that can look at, or be given a problem and remove all things that are hindering or blocking its successful delivery?

Public sector IT projects are different in scale to anything you can find in most private sector organisations, so how about being part of a team that is responsible for leading IT change projects for an entire Department and beyond?

Department for Education are looking for a Junior Developer to join our IT Group. You will be working with a team of Developers, Lead Developers and other IT specialists. You will be working with experts across many different areas and there is huge scope for exchanging ideas and innovations. We pride ourselves on using modern software development techniques to help deliver exceptional services. We’re also determined to provide our developers with exceptional support to help them enhance their skills.

We are looking for staff to join our agile delivery teams that are passionate about providing professional services and want to make the Department a great place to work. You will possess a breadth of technical skills and understanding of the following technologies SQL, .Net, C#, MVC, Entity Framework & LINQ, SSIS, VSTS/TFS, SSRS, HTML, CSS and WPF. You will be able to quickly learn new programming tools and techniques, and experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience. You will have demonstrable experience presenting work at user groups and conferences, and commercial experience developing web applications or services.

In return, you will enjoy an excellent rewards package which includes flexible working, Civil Service Pension and career progression, as well as constant investment into your development.

Closing date: midnight on Monday 6th March 2017.
