Would you relish the opportunity to be part of a Government Department in the middle of one of the most exciting and challenging IT programmes across Whitehall?

Are you someone that can look at, or be given a problem and remove all things that are hindering or blocking its successful delivery?

Public sector IT projects are different in scale to anything you can find in most private sector organisations, so how about being part of a team that is responsible for leading IT change projects for an entire Department and beyond?

Department for Education are looking for a User Experience Designer to join our team of IT specialists. You will be working with Senior Developers and Database Administrators alongside your peers in the project on-boarding team. You will be responsible for assisting in monitoring and controlling the internal development team’s resource. You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to help understand their business requirements and priorities. You will also measure project progress against KPI’s and SLA’s, and provide project support through monitoring risks and services.

We want people who are passionate about providing professional services and want to make the Department a great place to work. You will have a project management background and experience of working with Agile and/or ITIL in an IT/Digital function. You will have an understanding of existing and emerging web technologies in line with front-end and back-end development. You will have knowledge of Central Government and Open Government data systems, as well as HM Government security regulations.

In return, you will enjoy an excellent rewards package which includes flexible working, Civil Service Pension and career progression, as well as constant investment into your development.

Closing date: midnight on Monday 6th March 2017.
