Purpose of the Role:
• To work closely with the General Manager - and refer to the HR Manager when necessary - to deliver a comprehensive HR service including support, training and coaching to company's employees based on the principles of the group
• To work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities and adhere to Company rules on safe working
• To proactively advise on best practice HR and be hands-on in working with managers to provide work-able options whilst acting as the conscience of the Company if circumstances require
• To promote fairness and equality, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with best practice and legal requirements
• To support the people management functions that underpin the business culture: broad
areas include employee relations, compensation and benefits, reward, staff development, communica-tions and performance management
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Identify key changes in HR legislation to support the development of company policies, procedures and working practices
• Promoting the company Purpose Vision & Values as part of the culture of the
organization
• Coaching line managers to ensure positive relationships between the Company and
members of its workforce
• Analyzing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers
• Developing HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff
requirements
• Co-ordinating recruitment activities for the site. Providing managers with guidance and assistance in recruitment processes and ensuring company guidelines are adhered to
• Conducting HR inductions and probation reviews as required
• Providing advice and assistance regarding performance management and talent development of em-ployees
• Providing managers with HR support during formal disciplinary/grievance meetings
• Monitoring and assisting management in dealing with sickness absence including arranging and attend-ing absence review meetings
• Providing managers and other employees with HR guidance and support, including interpreting and advising on employment law in routine matters and escalating to the Group HR Manager when neces-sary
• Work with the Group HR Department on various projects including training and promotion of policies
• Preparing and producing all standard correspondence in accordance with Company policies and legal requirements
• Producing reports from payroll and time and attendance systems when required and ensuring data is accurate and presented to the specifications of the General Manager or the Head Office
• Must maintain high standards of confidentiality and impartiality

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications Required:
• Achieved at least the first level (level 3) of the CIPD qualification.
• Working towards / achieved Level 5 of the CIPD qualification.
• A graduate in a relevant subject is preferred
Experience Required:
Essential
• Previous experience of working as a HR Officer or equivalent within a pressurised, industrial
environment
• Setting up and maintaining administrative and record-keeping systems
• Experience of managing disciplinary hearings
• Proven experience of volume recruiting
• Coaching skills
• MS Word and Excel skills
• Preparedness for 100% hands-on role
Preferred
• Experience of working in HR in a manufacturing environment
• Previous management or leadership experience

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to communicate at all levels and deal with challenging individuals
• Self-motivated individual with resilience and good sense of humour in a busy environment
• An ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
• Self-sufficient yet ability to identify when matters require further escalation whether to General
Manager and/or Group HR Manager
• Driving licence
• Flexibility in terms of ever-changing priorities yet ability to ensure company objectives remain on track
