ROLE: Senior HR & Payroll Advisor

JOB TYPE: Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months

COMPANY TYPE: Energy /Oil and Gas

HOURS: 9:00am - 17:30pm

SALARY: GBP30,000 - GBP40,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll

* Ensure that the employee payroll is processed in accordance with the relevant contract conditions and legal requirements
* Maintain all relevant master files unique to payroll
* Prepare and submit year end payroll returns and P11 (d) forms to HMRC in accordance with the legal requirements
* Ensure timely payments to HMRC in accordance with legal accordance
* Ensure timely payments to all other payroll creditors
* Continual development of payroll systems and processes to ensure efficient service provision
* Provide tax information regard ex-pat employees to PWC for finalisation of tax
* Liaise with PWC on ex- pat issues
* Monitor and maintain the Time and Attendance System
* Maintain the confidentiality of all payroll and sickness details
* Calculation of annual attendance bonus payment

General

* Maintain HR systems and files to ensure they are readily accessible and up to date and compliant with current legislation.
* Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
* Coordinate and arrange training as required.
* Complete "on boarding" processes, including references, pre-employment medicals, security clearances and probationary review actions.
* Coordinate and deliver induction for all new starters.
* Check, respond and action e-mails in Insourcing HR and generalist mail box, escalating as required.
* Action tasks on incoming population checklists, including payroll, training and pre-employment medical checks.
* Maintain sickness and absence records in liaison with immediate managers and progress management referrals where required.
* Ensure there are written procedures available for all routine tasks, ensure all documents are updated as required and ensure all documents are updated as required.
* Assist in progressing probationary reviews at 3 months and 6 months.
* Undertake ad hoc projects as necessary.

Finance

* Ensure activities are in accordance with the organisations' accounting procedures.

HSSEQ (Health Safety Security Environment and Quality

* Work to standard, procedures and work instructions for Safety Critical Tasks in order to meet COMAH requirements. Assessment of Competency will form an on-going part of this role.
* Ensure all tasks carried out conform to company policies, procedures and systems.
* Be responsible, regardless of position, for the health, safety and security of yourself, colleagues and customers in accordance with the business and HSEQ principles.
* Be individually responsible for bringing to the notice of Line Management any potential hazard to health, safety or the environment of which you know or learn, in order that the hazard can be eliminated or significantly reduced; and for reporting any incidents relating to work activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel (v-look ups & pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
* Experience and knowledge of expat payroll
* Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
