Position - Senior School Nurse Nights - Hampshire
Location - Hampshire
Salary - up to GBP35,577
Hours - Full Time Permanent - Nights only

My client runs a health centre based on site to cater for the medical needs of 168 physically disabled students who attend the School and College. They are currently recruiting due to extending their service to a 52 weeks on-site nursing provision.

Shift Patters will be as follows -
Term Time - 8.30pm - 7.30am
Holidays - 8pm - 8am

To work as part of the nursing team to provide high quality holistic health care to the students throughout the campus, ensuring the nursing needs of the students are met.
To assess and implement care for the students.
To disseminate information to the multidisciplinary team working with the students
To undertake training for residential staff

My client provides specialist education, care and therapy for students with complex physical, neurological and learning disabilities. The post holder shall work in order to ensure the most appropriate nursing, personal and social care for all students. In undertaking this role their principle responsibilities are as follows:

To work within the nursing team to deliver high quality nursing care to students
To work as the nurse responsible for the population of students residential overnight
To work as a member of the multi disciplinary team to deliver high quality care to students in order to enable them to achieve their full potential
To work in partnership with other professionals and agencies
To administer medications and train residential care staff in accordance with national and local policies
To organise and deliver a broad range of nursing treatments, and to monitor their efficacy,
To provide first aid and attend emergency situations
To maintain accurate, contemporaneous records of all episodes of student contact
To participate in clinical supervision
To deliver training in specific care procedures to care staff and assist in the monitoring and assessment of the delivery of the same by the care staff
To actively transfer knowledge and skills to colleagues
To work to encourage the students independence and self-advocacy

To adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Council code of professional conduct and be conversant with the scope of professional practice and other advisory NMC papers
To adhere to and operate within Trust and National guidelines and procedures for safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
To take responsibility for professional and organisational knowledge in accordance with PREP
To maintain an updated evidence based approach to practice
To maintain accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous records, ensuring confidentiality at all times within national and local guidelines
To be involved in the training, monitoring and assessment of care staff, student nurses and team members in a broad range of clinical procedures
To attend mandatory training sessions such as moving and handling, resuscitation, health and safety and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
To take part in data collection for clinical audits under the direction of the senior nurse

Good general education
RN Level 1 with active registration
Evidence of CPD

Four years post registration experience
Experience working with children and young people
