Our client is a well established and highly reputable local high street insurance broker. They are experts in a variety of insurance products both commercial and individual including but not limited to property insurance, fleet insurance, professional indemnity, public liability, landlord/tenant and specialist high value property insurance.

The role will be to:
• Gather information from clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile;
• Research insurance companies' policies and negotiate with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for clients at the best price;
• Ensure that clients understand the terms and the extent of the cover provided in line with industry regulations;
• Foresee clients' insurance needs, such as policy renewals or amendments;
• Advise clients on whether and when they need to make a claim on their policies;
• Arrange specialised types of insurance cover in complex cases; this may involve preparing reports for insurance underwriters and surveyors and negotiating with insurers;
• Advise clients on risk management and help to devise new ways to mitigate risks, for example, by adding security measures such as fencing, surveillance cameras or lighting to commercial properties to reduce the likelihood of a break-in;
• Build and maintain ongoing relationships with clients;
• Acquire new clients and win accounts against competitors;
• Keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence;
• Develop relationships with underwriters, surveyors, photographers, structural engineers and other professionals;
• Keep up with changes in the insurance market and in your clients' industries;
• Collect insurance premiums and process accounts.

Requirements/Desirable:
• Good knowledge and confidence in sales with understanding of KPIs and SLAs.
• Driven to hit targets
• Excellent customer service.
• Good communicator both verbal and written in English.
• Decent knowledge of fleet /property owners/liability and business insurance or related.
• Knowledge of the Acturis broking system would be beneficial

As part of this role you will be expected to network and will be provided with networking groups to join and meet with on a regular basis in order to assist with bringing in new business as well as being provided with warm leads to follow up
