Compliance Monitoring Manager
Panoramic Associates have just registered a brand new opportunity within a London Market Insurance Broker to join their Compliance Monitoring team.
They are looking for an experienced Monitoring Officer to support each business unit with their compliance responsibilities, by assisting with reviews, recommending actions and resolutions, and
generally being an ambassador for all functions within the wider Compliance and Control division.
The key responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to;
Conducting risk, financial crime and conflicts based monitoring reviews, both routine and thematic, to assess the extent to which line management complies with regulatory procedural requirements and relevant internal control standards put in place to ensure the Company meets external legal and regulatory requirements;
Assisting with the Regulatory Assurance plan;
Carry out monitoring (including field based reviews as appropriate) of the Company's Trading Partners ensuring they meet, and continue to meet, FCA expectations and obligations under TOBAs and Binding Authorities as may be applicable;
Contribute to the development of regulatory procedures by identifying areas of weakness and making suggestions for improvement;
Produce accurate monitoring/assurance reports and ensure any issues identified from assurance activities are addressed in a timely manner. This includes maintaining appropriate records of all assurance activity;
Keep up to date with industry knowledge to ensure appropriate competency levels are maintained;
The successful candidate will need;
Must hold or be willing to work towards Cert CII
A thorough understanding of the FCA Handbook.
Detailed technical knowledge of the UK regulatory framework and markets as it applies to insurance brokers, wholesale and underwriting;
An understanding of the wider impact of regulation on consumers and businesses.
Experience of one or all retail broking, wholesale/London Markets insurance and/or underwriting (MGA).
Reinsurance experience would be desirable;
Commercial awareness and the ability to take a pragmatic approach in understanding and applying regulatory requirements, including the understanding of confidential issues and the use of discretion;
An understanding of the compliance risks facing insurance brokers and a contemporary;
Experience of the UK regulatory framework and insurance markets
