Senior Payroll Clerk opportunity Birmingham! GBP25,000 - GBP28,000 per annum.

Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently working with a well-established business based in Birmingham City Centre to recruit a Senior Payroll Clerk to the team.

This Senior Payroll Clerk Opportunity is a permanent role ideal for someone with extensive Payroll experience wanting a role that they can take charge of.

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a new role designed primarily to support the growing requirements of the company's monthly payroll function. The business has grown from 100 staff to 300 staff in the last seven years, and as such the payroll function, currently operated by the Financial Controller in conjunction with an outsourced bureau, requires expansion. It is now our appetite to bring the payroll function in-house in its entirety, and this sets us on a new project to both select and install the appropriate payroll software. Our client operate as a lean organisation, and as such there is a stronger than usual requirement for "getting it right first time, every time."

Recognising that the monthly payroll cycle features a dip in payroll activity during the mid-month, this role will also support the newly formed HR function, providing administrative support to the management of the forthcoming HR database.

This makes this role particularly exciting for an individual with an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy, and with the additional appetite for a wider exposure to the HR function.

* Time Recording System
* Starters/leavers management
* Timecode maintenance
* Challenge, correct, cleanse live data
* Data upload to payroll system
* Payroll management
* Payroll system maintenance
* Payroll file management
* Starters/leavers management
* Pension calculations
* Shift and overtime calculations
* Gross and net pay deductions
* Taxable expenses calculations
* SMP, SPP, SSP, student loan calculations
* Salary and bonus sacrifice management
* Net Pay calculations
* Payslips
* PAYE coding notices
* HMRC submissions, including RTI
* BACS preparation
* Auto-enrolment and pension submissions
* Performance reporting - sickness, absence, overtime etc
* Ad-hoc information requests
* Business support
* Working with department heads to enhance current time recording data review processes to reduce data cleansing requirements
* Annual returns
* P11D calculation, completion and submission
* PAYE settlement calculation and submission

Human Resources

* HR database and documentation support to the HR Manager
* Project based HR support
* Ad-hoc information / support for the HR department

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
