Credit Control Team Leader

Based: Brighton

Salary: To c. GBP30,000 + comprehensive benefits package

Lloyd Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of one of our top clients, who seek to recruit an experienced Credit Control Team Leader to support the Credit Control Manager in all aspects of managing a credit control team and in providing excellent standards of credit control service to a portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities - Credit Control
Undertake own collections on a portfolio of clients
Maintain the customer/client collection campaigns ensuring collection targets are met
Ensure customer limits are managed as appropriate to the condition of the ledger
Assist credit controllers with watch client
Ensure all debtor litigation work is carried out to a high standard
Work closely with our external legal panel when taking legal action against customers
Ensure the prompt reporting to internal departments on any risk issues
Ensure all customers/clients are treated fairly and complaints are dealt with as per Regulations.
The detection of fraudulent activity (where present) when verifying invoices or debtor balances through general liaison with clients and customers.
Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures
Producing monthly reporting for the Board Reports
Attend meetings as required with suppliers and clients to develop relationships
Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required
Undertake projects as required with the aim of continuous process improvement

Key Responsibilities - support and guidance to credit control team
Direct reporting line from all credit controllers, managing, motivating and leading by example
Providing guidance and supervision
Undertake reviews of the collections activity on each credit controller's portfolio of clients, ensuring the best customer service
Deal with/liaise with Credit Control Manager / Performance Management
Facilitate credit controller team meetings
Manage holiday requests, ensuring sufficient cover is maintained
Conduct mid and end of year reviews with each credit controller, 121's as appropriate and provide support and guidance in their personal development plans

Skills and experience required
Previous credit control experience
Considerable supervisory / team leader experience that includes undertaking appraisals, recruitment, coaching and disciplining employees, within a credit control environment
Customer service experience
Excellent telephone manner
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Good PC skills - especially proficient in Microsoft outlook and excel
Experience in assigning and monitoring workloads and gathering resources
Ability to coach, train employees and developing growth opportunities
Implementing productivity standards and new procedures
An understanding of the litigation process relating to the insolvency and traditional recovery routes
