Subject Leader for Physics Specification

You will be an inspirational Physics teacher who feels ready for school-wide leadership or a current consistent Subject Leader for Physics seeking a new challenge. You will have a track record of 'Good' or better classroom practice and direct knowledge of the demands that leading a subject area consists of. The school wants to meet Physics Teacher who have a good track record in terms of results and adding value and the ability to lead staff effectively day to day. You will have the ability to successfully motivate others and develop staff in order for them to reach their potential. The school's perfect candidate is a Physics Teacher who can show a clear understanding of the Science curriculum and can hit the ground running and utilise their range of behavioural management techniques.

About the Subject Leader for Physics role

As a Subject Leader for Physics at this school you will be using your knowledge and experience as a middle leader in charge of the Science team and you will be maintaining and adding to the department's resource stock. Part of your role will include implementing regular observations of staff members to ensure constant feedback on practice . Day-to-day, you will be building a new set of skills through a carefully constructed CPD scheme that allows for tailored development plans. The majority of your time will be spent undertaking management duties, however you will still be required to deliver well planned lessons on a regular basis. You will be leading curriculum development across all the key stages in order to raise attainment for all. Physics is taught across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 so previous experience teaching A-Level Physics is desirable in this Subject Leader for Physics position.
