Pricing Analyst

Salary - up to GBP30k per annum

Location - Bournemouth, Dorset

Our client, one of the largest risk management and insurance broking companies in the world, is looking for a Pricing Analyst to join their team in Bournemouth, Dorset.

You will support the Senior Pricing Manager, with insightful, mathematically sound, actionable and data-driven pricing recommendations which are aligned to pricing strategy, and to assist with successful and timely delivery of these recommendations. Ideally you will come from an insurance background with experience in producing accurate reports and correctly analysing data with a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

* Use available data and tools to analyse business performance across multiple sales channels and policy transaction types.
* Create, integrate, maintain and develop analytical models, including Propensity models: new business quote conversion, cancellations, renewal retention, Price elasticity models, Panel competitiveness, Embedding lifetime value modelling (aligned with across Pricing / Finance), Customer segmentation and trending
* Assist with the identification and realisation of commission optimisation opportunities.
* Impact analyses which forecast the expected outcomes from pricing adjustments
* Propose price tests which are implementable within current system constraints, controlled and targeted, with risks and expected outcomes calculated and communicated, and meet a specific volume/profit objective whilst providing price elasticity insights which support future price adjustments.
* Support successful implementation of agreed rating proposals. Generating rating tables or rating tool adjustments aligned to the price test as may be necessary, and working with the relevant systems and teams as required to ensure delivery within agreed timescales.
* Update and reporting upon monthly insurer panel pricing MI
* Recommend improvements and finding innovative solutions to existing processes, analysis and pricing techniques.
* Work with the Project Management team you will help manage and be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects aligned to the Pricing Team, as may be required.

Person Specification:

* Price elasticity and propensity modelling experience desirable
* Sound knowledge/experience of relevant IT tools; Emblem / Generalised Linear Modelling (GLM) experience desirable, MS Access and SQL skills desirable but not essential
* Technical background, experience in interpreting data for business reporting
* Expertise in data manipulation, including strong financial/scenario modelling skills using appropriate techniques in Excel
* Knowledge of current insurance pricing techniques and Personal Lines market trends
* Strong knowledge of general insurance products, services, and sales distribution channels, especially Aggregators / price comparison websites
* Ability to participate on multi-disciplinary work teams to achieve successful execution of complex projects
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* High attention to detail
