You must be a career-minded History Teacher/NQT who has worked with SEN pupils before and been recognised as a 'Good' or better teacher in recent observations. We want to see teachers with the drive to encourage all their students to aim high and display a thorough knowledge of the syllabus. We want to see teachers with the drive to bring a level of professionalism and ambition that will have a positive effect in the staff-room, leading to improved staff performance. The Headteacher wants to recruit a teacher with the vision and understanding to fuse fun, interactive practice with serious, controlled study to create a system of work and reward leading to improved achievement.

As a History Teacher/NQT your role will involve you teaching as an important member of the well supported Humanities Department. This school places a heavy emphasis on training, and as such you will receive ample opportunities to develop your skill set and pedagogical knowledge. You shall be allocated classes from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, meeting the requirements of the curriculum and fully preparing all pupils for summer exams. You will be supported towards your goal of outstanding teaching and learning by the inspiring Head of Humanities. Your responsibilities will include honing your preparation and classroom practice alongside a helpful, supportive senior teacher. The Humanities Department takes an inclusive approach to teaching it's topics, ensuring that all pupils in the class are working at a comfortable pace. One of the major reasons this school has achieved so much success is down to the extensive support staff team in place, you will have one of these members of staff working in class with you at all times. The popularity of the Humanities department makes teaching here fun and effective.

Found in Stoke-on-Trent, this school is a vibrant secondary and is easily accessible via regular and reliable transport links, with on-site staff parking available. It is proficient in developing trainee teachers and serves a high number of SEN pupils. It works closely with local organisations and businesses and has earned a 'Good' rating from Ofsted. Many pupils join this school at a lower than average ability, and the hard work of the teachers drives them to an academic level much higher than expected. Due to the fantastic reputation of the school and the consistently high results, it is habitually oversubscribed.
