Landmarc Support Services Ltd manage and maintain over 220,000 hectares of land across the United Kingdom on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (part of the Ministry of Defence). This land is used to provide realistic and challenging terrain for military training and comprises some of the most important and remote landscapes in the country.

An opportunity has arisen to join our Head Office as a Finance Analyst. As the Finance Analyst you will undertake accurate reporting and analysis of financial and commercial information.

Main Duties:

• General Ledger - ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting records including miscoded transactions and reconciling by comparing and correcting data, preparation of timely and accurate reporting including transaction reporting, preparing and posting journals

• Budgets and forecasts - support the preparation and review of budgets, forecasts and business plans, analysis, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management, support the month end reporting cycle

• Commercial support - monitoring compliance with the company's controls and procedures, supporting the financial management of framework contracts including liaison with subject matter experts to ensure appropriate provision of information and correct coding applied

The Ideal person

• Knowledge of Finance and Accounting as a professional discipline gained through a level 6 qualification such as degree or equivalent working experience
• Knowledge of the monthly accounts cycle gained through previous accounts experience
• Knowledge of business finance gained by working in an accounts department
• Knowledge of gaining financial insight gained through experience of carrying out financial analysis
• Working with performance-checked multi service facilities and services contracts, preferably in an MOD environment
• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV desirable
• Demonstrate keen analytic, organisational and problem solving skills
• Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Excel to a high standard
• Ability to understand advanced financial information
• Positive, can-do approach within a team
• Ability to work towards clearly defined deadlines while maintaining a high attention to detail
• Enthusiastic to learn and take on new tasks
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues and customers
• Ability to work with integrity and discretion
• Demonstrate proven track record of achieving objectives to set standards
