Embedded Software Engineer/Firmware Engineer - Bracknell

Due to further expansion, this leading designer and manufacturer of quality electronic Control equipment for the Security, Home Automation & Energy markets are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer/Firmware Engineer with solid C/C++ skills. You will work on innovative Development projects associated with sensors, detectors, video, acoustic and HVAC. The attractiveness of the role is the variety - low level Embedded development, some high level applications in C/C++, and to control sensors remotely via Mobile.

As a C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer/Firmware Engineer, you will have over 3 years of very similar experience working in a multidisciplinary team. You will have proven ability to program in 'C' and C++ and it is essential you have experience of 8, 16 or 32 bit micro controllers. You will have proven experience of Embedded Software Development over the full development life cycle, ideally of high volume electronic products or design for large production runs.

As an Embedded Software Engineer/Firmware Engineer you will have a good understanding of electronics, In Circuit Emulation (ICE) and debug monitors or simulators, Logic Analyzers, experience of source code control systems, understanding of serial communications and familiarity with oscilloscopes and test equipment. Home Automation or Z-Wave skills are a bonus.

You will have a good degree or equivalent in Electronics, Software Engineering or related discipline. You will be able to work alone and as part of a small R&D team, able to work to, and meet agreed timescales and have good spoken and written English communication skills.

As a Software Design Engineer you may have come from a background with experience of Data Communication protocols or Control Networks, Wireless Networks, Z-Wave, RS485, RS232, PIC, UART, I2C, SPI, ADC, DAC, Ethernet, DSP, GSM, GPRS, EMC.

Desired Skills and experience include Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), experience with NEC 78KIV microcontrollers, experience with ARM Cortex M3/M4 microcontrollers, TCP and UDP communications, C++, MFC.
