Infrastructure SME - Storage

The Infrastructure SME - Storage will be a member of the Storage team which is accountable for the continued support and delivery of the organisation varied storage network and backup estate.

Essential

  • EMC vendor SAN & NAS knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge & experience in the following EMC products; VMAX, VMAX-AF, VNX, Celerra, Isilon, VPLEX, Recoverpoint and Centera
  • Experience of EMC and general storage management technologies and utilities
  • Technical design of complete Storage Architecture
  • Understanding of network/switch architecture and protocols (CISCO MDS/NXOS)
  • Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity planning and execution
  • Experience in backup technologies (preferably Commvault Simpana)
  • Knowledge of ITIL and other industry wide initiatives that promote quality and process improvement (ITIL v3 Foundation certified preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team work
  • Ability to work on multiple streams of work at any given time and able to manage their own workload effectively
  • Planning & prioritising
  • Proven track record of implementation and updating of operational processes

Desirable

  • Experience in Commvault Simpana administration/configuration
  • Experience in managing third party engineers
  • Experience in resource and workload management
  • Service-orientated customer facing skills
  • Proven skills in aligning IT with organisational drivers
  • Industry awareness to identify improvement opportunities and implement them across the services and processes incorporated within the domain
  • General knowledge of all areas of IT application and infrastructure
  • Detailed understanding of processes and systems within the domain of expertise
  • Certification in the technologies mentioned
  • Exposure to Windows/Linux OS
  • Exposure to database technologies (Oracle, SQL)
  • Automation of service provisioning
  • Experience in archive technologies
