RedCat Digital are working with an exciting Oxford based technology company who work closely in the logistics sector to find an Algorithm Development Engineer to join a growing team.
My client has a unique product which adds incredible value to a number of global tyre and fleet operators which enables in-motion tyre pressure monitoring & recording as well as axle weighing. Their integrated system measures tyre pressure on a moving vehicle by automating the process for checking their road-worthiness. Mathematical algorithms are at the core of their business and product which is currently being refined to be able to provide complete tyre information from a single drive through.
Recently they have grown their team from 4 to 20 people and have attracted significant investment to fund their development.
The Algorithm Development Engineer Role
Currently my client are looking to develop and refine sophisticated algorithms in order to achieve the reliable measurements they are aspiring to. They intend to create Big Data analytical bases for tyre information gathered from thousands of sites worldwide and they are looking for incredibly talented mathematician and data scientists to aid with achieving this.
The roles main responsibility will be to design and develop data processing algorithms for estimating tyre properties from indirect sensor measurements, including the implementation of machine learning techniques. You will design solutions at both system and code level to create algorithms that meet the projects' targets. Additionally you will contribute to the growth of the company as they expand, with frequent research opportunities available.
You will have significant experience devising mathematical algorithms based on Datamodelling as well as fantastic knowledge of machine learning techniques. It is expected you will have a PhD or a strong masters degree in Mathematics, Physics or a similar subject and will have proven commercial experience using programming languages such as C#, Python, Ruby and C++.
Experience of cluster modelling and image processing techniques is an advantage. Additionally it is expected you will have good written and verbal communication skills and be somebody who is passionate about contributing to technically demanding projects in a dynamic and challenging environment.
