A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Underwriter to join this leading insurance services organisation during an exciting period of growth
In this role, you will set, implement and achieve underwriting profit goals in accordance with the business plan. You will ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of underwriting guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing, and use of capacity whilst recognising market conditions.

Duties will include:

• Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and the Corporate Casualty business plan.
• Follow and implement the underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability.
• Ensure quality control within responsibility by undertaking underwriting reviews.
• Actively contribute to casualty meetings.
• Implement products within area of expertise in order to improve client retention and new business.
• Collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe as well as globally.
• Ensure the team meet all internal vendor reporting requirements
• Identify tactical and strategic developments
• Communicate complex data in an insightful way
• Performance analysis
• Deliver and implement identified process, service and system enhancements
• Strong Understanding and experience in developing and maintaining governance, control and risk framework
• Maintaining effective communication with system and process team members, claims adjusters and claims management.

To be successful for this role you must have comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of Casualty Insurance, the insurance market and competitors. Qualified or currently studying towards ACII qualification.
