We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At Ellis Whittam we are currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join our expanding team based in Aldford, Cheshire. You will be joining us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 per annum.

The Mid-market private equity house LDC has recently made a significant investment in Ellis Whittam which will be used to fund future developments over the next four years and create 100 jobs. We have a shared ambition and the partnership will help us to bring our expertise to many more management teams throughout the UK.

About the Commercial Manager Role

You will support the Commercial Director in all aspects of managing the Commercial function, and to further develop the EW product portfolio, the pricing profitability and implementation of the products and services.

Key Responsibilities of our Commercial Manager

- Working with the EW service delivery teams to ensure that meaningful cost to serve usage statistics are captured at client level.

- Using the usage statistics to produce an analysis of profitability at product, sector, and client level.

- Using the profitability analysis to develop new product propositions and to refine existing product offerings.

- To develop multi-dimensional approaches to pricing and sector based pricing. To manage the ongoing issuing of price lists to the Sales team.

- Identify gaps in existing tender materials, and ensure that the library of documents held by Ellis Whittam for use in responses is up to date, relevant, and suitable for supporting a wide variety of tenders.

- Work with the Partnerships team and partners to develop profitable upsell propositions to the members of our partner clients.

- Work with the finance team to ensure that commission statements are produced in a timely manner for our referrer partners. You will take responsibility for the accuracy of the commission statement and ensure that partners are paid in accordance with our contractual commitments.

- Gather competitor information on terms and conditions and ensure that Ellis Whittam do not offer their services on terms that are seen as disadvantageous to those offered by the market in general.

What we're looking for in our Commercial Manager

- Strong education background, ideally degree educated in a related subject area.

- Demonstrable experience and a significant track record of achievement in a commercial management role.

- Highly literate with the ability to produce high quality internal and external documents such as tender responses, board papers, and structured proposals. Highly numerate, ideally with a recognised financial qualification, and the ability to produce meaningful analysis of product and sector profitability.

- Experience of managing large bids and tenders.

- Project management skills and implementation experience.

- Ideally some experience of direct selling or supporting a field based sales team.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a track record and ability to build relationships internally and with your colleagues. Good telephone skills and client facing skills with the ability to handle issues that have been escalated through to the Commercial Director.

- Experience of working with suppliers and partners, with the ability to manage day to day commercial challenges that arise out of those relationships.

- Excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office and with experience of having previously a recognised CRM system.

- Experience of working with complex data sets and producing value adding Management Information, analysis, and reports.
