Director - Technology Transformation

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is one of Whitehall’s newest Departments, promoting British trade across the world and ensuring the UK takes advantage of the huge opportunities open to us.

This is a tremendously exciting time to join DIT and work at the heart of the UK’s relationship with the global economy. We are developing and delivering a new trade and investment policy to promote UK business across the globe, developing and negotiating free trade agreements and market access deals with non-EU countries, and negotiating plurilateral trade deals focused on specific sectors and products. We also work across the UK to support exporters, facilitate outward investment, and to attract foreign direct investment.

The Department is rapidly scaling up to meet these challenges and is seeking to appoint an Technology Transformation Director. The Technology Transformation is at the heart of the Department’s ability to successfully deliver its programme of work, and this person will play a key role in enabling the Department to meet its important objectives. This post holder will be responsible for building and leading the team that will reset the organisation’s approach to technology, and deliver a high quality modern technology service.

This individual will lead the delivery of the transformed IT for DIT’s staff, as well as providing strategic advice to Ministers on key issues relating to IT and cyber security in the Department. It is crucial that they are comfortable interacting with and influencing a wide range of senior stakeholders, as well as delivering at pace in complex environments.

Please see candidate information pack for skills and responsibilities required for the role.
