Our client, a very successful accountancy practice, with 2 offices and 32 staff (which has grown from inception 12 years ago to a client base of more than 1000), is seeking a Bookkeeper / Payroll Administrator to join their team in South Northamptonshire. Reporting to the Bookkeeping Manager, this permanent opportunity requires an experienced bookkeeper (ideally with some payroll experience) to carry out bookkeeping responsibilities for the firm's clients, duties include:

Carrying out bookkeeping for clients
Completing Vat Returns to HMRC deadlines
Processing weekly and monthly payrolls and pensions
Liaising with clients on a day to day basis via email and telephone
Developing a thorough knowledge of Fusemetrix, IRIS Practice Management & other IT systems
Visiting clients as required
Preparation of year end information for accounts team
Assisting with office administration and duties including answering the phone, greeting clients and taking payments

The ideal Candidate should have at least 2 years previous accountancy practice experience and ideally previous experience of multiple client payrolls. IRIS Payroll Professional experience would be an advantage, as would experience of using Xero, Sage or Quickbooks (although it is expected for candidates to be conversant in one of the aforementioned applications). Ability to complete VAT returns is essential. AAT qualifications would be beneficial. They should be meticulous, conscientious and self-motivated with confident customer service and communication skills. They should be able to carry out office administration with superb attention to detail and presentation.

Applicants will be interviewed in person as soon as can be arranged. Our client is looking to recruit with immediate effect. The successful applicant will typically be required to work 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday but full-time hours are flexible
