We have heavily invested in brand new state of the art homes and facilities that are capable of supporting the most complex of needs. Our new primary Schools are now open and we are looking for a new, dynamic Business manager who shares the same forward thinking and dedication as the company.

The Role

Your main role and purpose will be to work alongside the Executive Principal and Board of Directors. You will be expected to strategically lead and manage the financial and personnel administrative aspects of the school and residential provision.
You would be working very closely with the Executive Principal, Board of directors and the senior leaders to market, develop and improve all of the education and residential provisions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Are you able to implement the financial decisions of the Executive Principal and board of directors?

• You would be needed to advise on all investment's and financial policy's. You should be proficient in preparing for appraisals for future projects and development for long term financial strategy.

• To maximise income generation within the ethos of the school

• In conjunction with the Executive Principal, create the detailed budget for the school.

• To use financial management information, especially benchmarking tools, to identify areas of relative spend, assess trends, and directly advise the SLT accordingly.

• Monitor and control income and expenditure in relation to the school's budget.

• To assist in the preparation of all financial returns for the DFE and other central and local government agencies within statutory deadlines.

Managing Human Resources.

• To be responsible for general personnel matters ensuring required pre-employment checks are carried out for new employees, dealing with staff queries about salaries, expenses, sickness and maternity procedures etc. Monitor absence and undertake the return to work interviews with support staff.

• To maintain confidential staff records, and to ensure that staff records held in the school by others are kept confidential.

• To provide leadership and guidance for administrative and site staff, including direct line management responsibility where appropriate.

• All safeguarding procedures are in place and adhered to generally, particularly in relation to the Single Central List (DBS checklist) and recruitment.

• Ensuring all HR processes and systems are legal, compliant with internal policies and best practice, and are efficiently undertaken

• Ensure the workforce census is completed

• Be responsible for the planning, development, design, organisation and monitoring of support services and whole school systems/procedures/policies.

• Provide organisational and advisory support to the senior leadership team, attending and leading meetings as appropriate and to minute meetings as required

• Participate as part of the Senior Leadership Team and to minute meetings as required

The Administration of the School.
• To manage the administrative function including the administrative ICT facilities.
• To provide for the preparation and production of all school records and publications.
• To act as a bridge to facilitate closer working relationships between teaching and support staff.
• Interpret matters of policy/procedure/statute to ensure the school's compliance and initiate any appropriate action necessary.
