Senior HR Advisors - Peterborough
We have two rare and very exciting opportunities for full-time (37.5 hours per week) HR Shared Service Senior Advisors to join our busy, professional and friendly team. This is a great opportunity to join a centralised HR Shared Service and really make a difference to the people we support.
We have one permanent position and a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Our offices in Hampton are open Monday - Friday, 8am - 5.30pm with shifts on a rota basis.
The HR Shared Service Senior Advisor is dedicated to delivering best practice, a custodian of all People IT systems, a champion of credible data reporting and as a facilitator of change you will embrace transformation. You will be able to provide support, advice and coaching to your colleagues and administrative support to all Managers and employees.
Our high performing HR Shared Service team provides support to line managers and employees, mainly by phone and email. This covers the full employee life-cycle from on-boarding, training and to the end of employment. The emphasis is on customer service and quality, this ensure the most efficient and accurate end result. You will also be supporting our HR Shared Service Advisors with any queries in relation to their role, the senior will be the first point of contact to all of the Advisors and will escalate to the Team Manager if required.
The team have regular contact with people at all levels of Mencap from Support Workers, Service Managers to Administrators, we are focussed on building relationships with all of our customers both internal and external whilst understanding the priorities of the business areas we're aligned to. We have approximately 8,000 employees, which means the work we carry out is varied, complex and fast-paced as we work to tight deadlines.
We're looking for competent and experienced HR Advisors at a Senior level who can work at a fast pace, have great attention to detail whist adapting naturally to change with an emphasis on delivering the very best service and quality. Your ability to build rapport with the people who use our service and the HR team is crucial to our success. Most of our work is done by phone or email so your experience of working in this way is vital. You'll need to be confident in using HR/Payroll databases, applicant tracking systems, workflow and document management databases, as well as MS Office applications, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
The successful candidates will have experience working within a HR function at a senior level, dealing with job offers, on-boarding contracts, booking training and any changes made to a candidate's employment life-cycle. You will have the ability to work decisively in collaboration with the teams we support all over the UK & have the ability to naturally problem solve. We are looking for people that can think outside the box with the ability to think innovatively on a daily basis.
Key Skills and Experiences:
- Experienced and confident in using a wide range of different software and databases
- Experience as a HR Advisor is essential
- Experience working within a senior role is essential
- Experience working within a customer facing role is essential
- You will have a good understanding of HR policies and procedures with the ability to guide our internal customers using the relevant policy and procedures
- CIPD qualified or working towards will be required for this position
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role
- Ability to make senior decisions whilst knowing when to escalate to a Team Manager
