Our client work with a Global Specialty Insurer are currently looking to expand their IT Application Support function which delivers services to ensure that IT applications are available, performance, supported, maintained, secure and continuously improved to meet Business functional and non-functional requirements to agreed service levels.

The purpose of this role is to provide maintenance and support for the Modelling Systems and Applications underpinning the Business processes dependent on these IT services.

The team also manages a number of production services on internet enabled technologies

Responsibility for hands-on support and maintenance of Modelling applications including RMS Risklink and Risk Manager, AIR CATtrader, EQECAT and other systems as may be requested by management


* Ensuring provision of second line application support (Helpdesk/Service Desk being first line), responding to and resolving requests for assistance from business users in line with agreed service levels. This could range from simple 'How do I' type questions, to more complicated issues or requirements.
* Ensuring that all assigned cases on the incident management system are maintained up to date with progress and resolution details and that these are responded to and resolved in line with agreed service levels.
* Supporting the team in specifying data fix/change requirements to environments, ensuring these also have user signoff. Assist in validation of solutions proposed by vendors.
* Develop a working knowledge of the operating environment and following change management procedures and vendor direction, make amendments as may be necessary to support changing business requirements.
* Ensure all documentation associated with support processes and procedures is maintained up to date.
* Perform small scale development (and its documentation) of new uses of the systems, new reports and enquiries, and new interfaces in line with business specified requirements to enhance the functionality of the system and to cater for new data sources.
* Analysis of requirements for supporting applications.


* Understanding of the insurance market and ideally Lloyds of London market
* Understanding of Modelling within Insurance and the IT applications underpinning modelling delivery
* Exposure to the management and support of market leading modelling IT platforms including RMS Risklink, Risk Manager, CATTrader, EQECAT
* Understanding of ITIL service management framework
* Understanding of project management methods e.g. PRINCE2
* Understanding of software development lifecycle frameworks, including AGILE, Waterfall methods
