UK Finance Manager - Lydney

GBP55,000 - GBP70,000 plus excellent benefits



About Our Client

A global Manufacturing company who are market leaders in the area that they operate in. This role reports directly into the Finance Director and will cover 2 sites, each with a Financial Controller who will report into yourself. This role requires a very strong communicator, solid technical accounting skills and the ability to lead a growing Finance team from the front.



Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Management of the monthly accounts close process
  • Ensuring production of accurate financial and management reports to specific deadlines
  • Providing analysis and explanation for the company's performance and results
  • Supervision of the weekly forecasting process
  • Responsibility for the UK budgeting process
  • Overseeing quarterly and annual audits, liaising with auditors and other advisors
  • Review and approve UK statutory accounts and Tax returns
  • Ownership of departmental control and compliance work
  • Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance according to legal requirements and company rules & regulations (including documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley Act purposes)
  • Leading the continuous improvement approach with UK Finance
  • Delivering profit and cash targets
  • Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects to support and improve the business
  • Day to day management and supervision of the UK finance team (across two sites)
  • Supporting the Financial Controllers at both UK sites
  • Developing and qualifying the finance team to support the needs of the business
  • Providing analysis and explanation for the company's performance and results
  • Responsibility for the UK budgeting process




Person specification:
  • Accounting qualification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Minimum 3 years senior financial experience with line management responsibility
  • Sound analytical and proactive problem solving abilities
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP)
  • IT Literate (advanced Excel Skills, manufacturing systems experience)
  • Excellent team player with ability to lead, develop and motivate the finance team
  • A Manufacturing or Engineering background would be preferred but not essential
