We are looking for a Head of Finance to come on board and take overall control of the Finance Team and ensure that robust financial controls are in place and that management information and analysis is provided within an industry leading financial reporting framework.

This role is based in Matlock Derbyshire with occasional travel throughout our hostel network.

Key Role Responsibilities:

* Contribute to the development of strategy by providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
* Develop the team to ensure that the YHA continues to meet external and internal audit requirements and provide industry leading support for the business
* To ensure company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
* Build on existing reporting frameworks through the development and embedding of exception reporting, highlighting trends and areas for scrutiny and action by the relevant business area.
* Produce departmental plans to support the YHA's overall objectives
* Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed
* Take ultimate responsibility for the organisation's cash management policies
* Take a lead role as a member of the Senior Management Team deputizing for the Director of Finance & IT where required

Person specification:

* Qualified Accountant with experience of working in senior roles within a similar sized organization to the YHA
* In depth experience and knowledge of finance and financial systems
* The ability to explain issues effectively and an ability to provide authoritative advice on financial issues
* Direct experience of introducing new systems and processes
* Experience in assisting in the formulation of, and leading of the delivery of strategic objectives
* Excellent knowledge of YHA and understanding of business challenges
