Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources, the Project Accountant will provide support to the Project Steering group by tracking and reporting on grant funded projects and liaising with Project Leads and budget holders ensuring that budgets are properly managed.

Salary: GBP27,668 per annum (pro rata), NJC point 31
18 hours per week, Initial fixed term to 31 March 2018
Based in Leicester

Home-Start is a federated network of local organisations which provide community based support for families and children. Over the past four decades Home-Start has supported over a million children and has become one of the leading family support charities across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a Finance Department and will be part qualified or working towards a recognised accountancy qualification. Experience of producing budget and project reporting and supporting financial modelling will also be required.

A high level of numeracy is required, together with the ability to plan and manage a complex workload and be able to work alone and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, is a key requirement of this role. Experience of SAGE line 50 and up to date knowledge of SORP and other charity accounting practices, while not essential, would be an advantage.
