Our client, a leading construction, property, residential and services group, is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to deliver new sales in Estates and Asset Management Consultancy market. This work currently includes Development Appraisal & Advice, Property Valuation & Market Analysis, Housing Stock Valuations, Right To Buy, S.106 Viability Assessments, Site Acquisitions & Disposals and Easement & Working Space Agreements. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of all of these services and bring new client and market intelligence to the role. The post holder will understand customer objectives, work with the bid team to plan and manage the bid response and deliver proposals in line with the Company's commercial guidelines and brand, whilst engaging with all parts of the business to ensure a professional, compliant and winning proposal.

This is a national based role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving agreed sales targets
  • Identifies new Business Development opportunities to Head of Business Development for decision on relative merits and priority, and to agree allocation of opportunity in the team
  • Responsible for owning sales and agreeing bid plans with the bid management and writing team in compliance with internal bid process
  • Developing relationships with existing and prospective clients to help identify the drivers, stakeholders and decision makers in future procurement exercises to maximise opportunity
  • Owns the successful delivery of lead/sales generation campaigns
  • Developing and manages a personal bid pipeline, regularly reviewed and reported on against target
  • Looks for and identifies opportunities for the wider business, encouraging and supporting successful cross selling
  • Involves operational team resources in client meetings and development of proposal eg new works/products/proposals, as may be necessary
  • Identifies client led product/service development - feeds back client information/comments/ideas/complaints to Team Leader and on to relevant Service Line to help develop and continuously improve existing service offering and new propositions
  • Attendance at internal Sales Team meetings
  • To be an engaging influence on the wider sales team, sharing experience and leads, identifying sales strategies and supporting other sales opportunities for bid submissions
  • Ensure CRM is updated to provide management information

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience of Business Development and Sales success
  • A detailed understanding of professional building/property related services, specifically Estates and Asset Management Consultancy
  • Knowledge of Design Consultancy and wider related services also preferable
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation through the production of bespoke client proposals
  • Ability to plan and execute bid planning workshops with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Motivated to achieve sales targets and identify new sales opportunities
  • An enthusiastic, passionate and determined bid professional
  • Ambitious, and integrate easily within a team
  • Ability to write and review bid/proposal documents
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills (written and verbal) - with ability to positively influence individuals and teams; internally and in client organisations
  • Highly confident in client facing environments, able to sell ideas, build trust and develop leads
  • Computer literate; with specific knowledge of MS Office Applications; Microsoft Dynamics CRM; and ability to learn new computer systems as may be applicable
  • Able to demonstrate alignment to required core behaviours
  • Full driving licence
