An excellent opportunity has become available for a Head of Financial and Management Accounting to join a government organisation that incorporates and dissolves limited companies, registers the information companies are legally required to supply, and makes that information available to the public. Based in Cardiff, the successful Head of Financial and Management Accounting will earn a salary of GBP44,468 - GBP53,168 per annum, depending on experience.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will join the senior finance leadership team which is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial performance across the organisation. As one of the Government`s leading digital agencies, you will develop our finance services in line with our strategy and with a focus on high performance, digital and efficient systems and services. The provision of high quality analysis is key, together with the ability to provide appropriate challenge and advice to the Board and cost centre managers.

The company is looking for a technically strong accountant with a flair for innovative and customer driven services; these include placing business partnering at the heart of the service, and the provision of digital, visually compelling reports that provide the insight needed to support sound decision making.

You must be CCAB qualified with at least 3 years` post qualification experience to include leading a team, systems and process improvement initiatives and the management of year end processes. To be considered for the Head of Financial and Management Accounting, you must be able to demonstrate how you meet the following competencies and provide evidence of this in your application:

- Alert to emerging issues and trends within the organisation, aligning team priorities with department priorities
- Analysis of data from various sources to draw conclusions and advise on best practice solutions
- Communicating in a succinct and engaging manner, building trust and relationships at all levels
- Taking responsibility for delivering at pace and meeting various deadlines, to a high standard
- Encourage and actively build collaborative working within own team and with wider stakeholders
- Strong, demonstrable experience in current financial reporting with a strong technical background, including audit experience.
- Significant experience in financial analysis and planning, with strong excel and report writing skills
