We are recruiting for this FTSE 250 business who are looking for someone who doesnt want to prepare management accounts or statutory accounts, but wants to manage a team of 4 people and do all the commercial business partnerning adn projects, paying GBP60,000-65,000 + 20% bonus. The team they manage consists of a business analyst, qualified, who answers all questions on the simple stats, there are only 2 entities to look after in anycase. The more complex stuff is done by the group team. Then there are 2/3 management accounts who prepare all the budgets and forecasts etc. The Finance Manager's role is to review all the commentary then work with the Managing Director of the business unit on strategic objectives, looking at new M&A deals, investment appraisals, commission calculations for the sales teams, geographic analysis, product analysis. Lots of financial planning and anlaysis, scenario planning and modelling. The Finance Manager is in essence a mini CFO for the business units they run. They will look after about 40-50 million of revenue in this role. The whole group has manay companies and a Finance Manager for each division, which consists of manay companies. There is therefore a lot of disposing of companies, building them up and selling them on. Lots of dealing with non-finance. Such an exciting role. The ideal candidate will be an FP&A Analyst/Finance Manager who has managed 1/2 people before and is ready to take on a bigger challenge in a commercial capacity. This role would definitely set you up to be an FD of the future. The ideal candidates will be ACA/CIMA/ACCA 2-3 years PQE with a strong management accounting background and management experience.
