The role:

Due to an on-going requirement, covering extended sick leave, they require a Group Statutory Accountant to work closely with the Finance team, to be responsible for a variety of duties.

This Group Statutory Accounting role will be responsible for preparing statutory financial statements and statistical information submissions, internal management reporting and projects to improve the month-end close and reporting processes.

You will report into the Group Accounting Manager within the Finance team and will require regular interaction with other team members, internal finance teams, external auditors as well as with the other senior Directors, the VP and the Group Controller.

The overall team is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results to UK Companies House and other foreign regulatory bodies.

Main responsibilities as a Group Statutory Accountant include:

* Preparation of statutory financial statements for both UK and foreign entities
* Preparation of statistical information for submission to government bodies
* Providing documentation to external auditors to support the audit and review of the financial statements and disclosures
* Preparing management accounts for board meetings
* Review of month-end close and reporting processes in order to suggest improvements

Ideal profile as a Group Statutory Accountant:

* This role would suit a part qualified or recently qualified accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent, with relevant experience
* Be able to offer excellent communication skills, able to work within a team as well as other finance teams
* Successful candidate will be highly motivated and keen to both identify issues and to take responsibility for seeing them through to resolution
* Knowledge of UK GAAP would be highly advantageous
* Previous working knowledge of Oracle Financials and Hyperion would be highly desirable
* Be available at very short notice to commence this role and be available to commit to a long term position
