We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accounts / Accounts Manager for a prestigious client in the North Worcestershire area.

This is a Permanent position, with a salary of GBP27 - GBP30kpa, depending on experience.

You will be responsible for the conduct of the financial affairs, business management, and material state of the premises; and also for day-to-day administration.

Finance and Accountancy:
• Advising on general financial policy.
• Preparing annual estimates of income and expenditure to include the preparation of departmental budgets, the latter in consultation with the other senior staff.
• Monitoring income and expenditure in relation to budget and presenting regular management reports.
• Keeping the accounts and preparing Statements of Financial Activity (SOFA) and balance sheets in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
• Maintaining cash flow projections for the current and future years.
• Advising on investments in consultation with brokers or investment managers.
• Preparing bills, invoices, and collecting fees.
• Payment of all salaries and wages, including PAYE, Superannuation and National Insurance Contributions and compliance with regulations for benefits in kind.
• Administering pension schemes for all staff.
• Scrutinising and passing for payment all invoices received.
• Organising special appeals for projects or funds.
• Keeping analyses of costs and other statistical records.
• Preparing forecasts for the future financial performance; usually over a period of five years.
• Preparing financial appraisals of particular projects.
• Advising on taxation matters generally, and ensure compliance with regulations for VAT.
• Dealing with income tax and rating assessments.
• Advising on funds and undertaking assessments of income and assets.
• Involvement in the marketing and development - this role is beginning to emerge but must be balanced against other commitments.
• Manage all invoices and receipts, ensuring that all invoices and receipts are correctly identified.
• Send invoicing reports.
• Prepare electronic banking payment orders.
• To act as contact person for the external accountant and collect all payment receipts and general accounting information required.
• Accounting of staffing costs.
• Control payments made with company VISA cards.
• Act as point of contact for the Group HR Department.
• Report on salary costs.
• Ensure compliance with the staffing budget
• Prepare documentation for submission to the authorities, supervise the sale of materials & carry out a monthly inventory

General Management and Administration:
• Acting as clerk and secretary to various committees and trusts.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant aspects of employment law including employment protection, equal pay, minimum wage, Working Time Directive or discrimination on the grounds of sex, race or disability.
• Acting as the adviser on employment matters including disciplinary procedures and ensuring appropriate disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Ensuring that all relevant staff have contracts of employment and keeping the standard contracts up-to-date as new legislation takes effect.
• Managing the employment, terms and conditions of service, supervision and welfare of all staff.
• Formulating, monitoring and implementing policy to comply with the requirements of health and safety legislation. This could include acting as the health and safety assistant or as chair of the health and safety committee. Carry out risk assessments where appropriate and monitor all departments to ensure that they are carrying out risk assessments. Take professional advice as required.
• Ensuring the business has adequate insurance cover at all times to include employer's liability, buildings and equipment cover, personal accident, travel insurance and other relevant cover. Professional advice should invariably be sought.
• Purchasing, either directly or through a purchasing group, all goods and services.
